ABOut Brittni

Brittni is a professional Director, Actor, Educator, and Playwright, currently living in Colorado, where she recently concluded a five year tenure as the Education Director at Creede Repertory Theatre. She received her BA in Theatre from Wake Forest University on a Presidential Scholarship for Performance, and her MFA in Directing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Brittni attributes her love of theatre to seeing a high school production of The Wizard of OZ when she was a child. She recalls being completely captivated, but also terrified of the Wicked Witch. After the performance, on a trip to the restroom with her grandmother, Brittni happened upon the actress who played the Wicked Witch, washing off her green makeup. It was at that moment that Brittni realized that the people on the stage were just like her. That could be her one day.

As a Theatre Artist, Brittni is interested in creating experiences, rather than just performances. As a life-long educator, she strives to be constantly learning and growing. And as an administrator and proud mom of two, she is committed to supporting parent-artists and making theatre accessible to families of all shapes and sizes. Brittni whole-heartedly believes in the power of collaboration, and she loves to surround herself with other artists willing to dive in, take risks, and make magic together.

Acting

Brittni Shambaugh Addison is a standout as Stine’s ally and bedfellow, Donna, as well as Stone’s good girl Friday, Oolie. She portrays both parts with the kind of smarts that allow her to hold her own in both worlds and hold the full attention of the audience through her engagement with other actors.'”
